Alcohol Service
Meydenbauer Center is proud to offer a variety of quality beverages including cocktails, beer and wine for your event.
Meydenbauer Center's catering department will determine the appropriate number of beverage stations and the hours of operations to meet the needs of your guests. Our standard is one bar per 125 guests. This may be adjusted based on factors such as hours of service, group history, sales, and whether the service is cash or hosted. If you choose to follow our recommendations for beverage stations there are no Bar Set-Up Fees or Minimum Guarantees that are common at some Hotels or Banquet facilities.
If you wish to add bars or extend the hours beyond our recommendation, we do require guaranteed sales of $150 per bar, per hour of operations. For example, if you wanted to have three bars open for 250 guests for 4 hours, you would be required to guarantee $1800 in beverage sales (4 hours @ $150 per hours = $600 guaranteed sales, $600 times 3 bars = $1800). If the combined sales of the three bars totaled $1600, you would be charged $200 to make up the difference for the minimum sales guarantee. If you choose to add additional bars or extend the hours of bars you will be asked to sign a contract guaranteeing minimum sales.
In the interest of safety, we reserve the right to refuse alcohol service to any person, group, or event. Meydenbauer Center beverage staff receives training in the Washington State Certified TIPS Program in an effort to protect you and your guests.
Per our license issued by the Washington State Liquor Control Broad, you are required to provide food in conjunction with all alcohol service. In addition, no alcoholic beverages may be served or provided by any source other than the Meydenbauer Center.
Meydenbauer Center may allow nonprofit charitable fundraising groups to provide donated wine to be served for a corkage fee of $14.00 per bottle. Sales tax and our standard Service Charge of 20% will apply to this corkage fee. Only 750 milliliter bottles may be served. Groups who provide donated wine for their event will be required to obtain and display a Special Occasion Permit. This permit can be purchased at any official Washington State Liquor Store.
